BOAT INFORMATION

The Catalina 36 Mark II hits a sweet spot among weekend cruisers. It’s big enough to be comfortable and capable, but small enough to easily manage it shorthanded and it comes at a reasonable price. This model was designed by Frank Butler and Gerry Douglas, introduced in 1994 and was produced until 2005. The Mark II uses the same hull design and rig as a 36, but has a larger cockpit, different cabin ports, a walk-through transom and a new deck and interior design.

ACCOMMODATIONS


The convertible main solan has a large dining table that can be collapsed and stored on the bulk head which opens up the salon space with a large settee to port and two seats and game table to starboard. Both can be made into berths for additional sleeping arrangements. The teak and holly woodwork and floors are in good shape and provide a nice ambiance to the salon.

The forward cabin features a large v-berth, hanging locker with a shelf and mirrored sliding door cabinet. The v-berth also contains drawers and shelves for storage. There is a large hatch above the v-berth that opens and side ports or cross ventilation.

The large aft cabin features a queen size berth, an opening hatch, drawer and shelf.
