BOAT INFORMATION
|
What a sleeper! AMANDA ROSE is a fast boat with plenty of comfort or a cruiser with a surprising turn of speed. When Catalina redesigned their 32 footer they added beam in the stern. This makes for a very comfortable open cockpit with everything at hand. It also makes room for a very large transverse berth in the aft cabin. They also improved the rig and foils which adds up to a fast, maneuverable, sailor. On deck there is a plow anchor on a roller with a large deck locker for chain and rode. You will also find a backup Danforth anchor in a fitted slot in the locker. There is a 90% jib on a roller furler. Moving aft is the mast with double spreaders and inboard shrouds. The boom is managed by a solid vang/kicker and the main sail features dutchman flaking. The traveller is forward of the dodger/ companionway hatch. All halyards, sheets, and reefs are led aft and are well served by four two-speed, self-tailing, Lewmar winches on the cabin top and cockpit coaming. The cockpit features a large stainless steel wheel with all engine controls, instruments, and compass on the binnacle. There are also drink holders and a folding teak table attached to the binnacle. There is plenty of room for six or more adults in the nicely cushioned cockpit and the best seats in the house are the two attached to the stern rail. The decks are surrounded by double lifelines and there is a nicely sized swim platform with a ladder that forms a central gate from the cockpit. There is also a hot/cold pressurized shower adjacent to the swim platform. Going below; the galley is to port and features plenty of counter space and storage. There is a large top loading refrigerator and two burner propane stove/oven. The double sink has pressurized hot and cold water. To starboard is access to the aft berth. Just forward is the head with marine toilet, vanity sink and hand held shower. Forward of the galley is the nav desk that cleverly uses the end of the port single settee/berth as a seat. Opposite is a c-shaped settee that converts to a double berth when the central table is lowered and the included cushion is in place. All the way forward is the V-berth with storage beneath. Pass-throughs give a an open feeling to the salon but in-place make the v-berth a quiet and private place. With the speed and space of a larger boat AMANDA ROSE is a great sailing boat and at this price; a true bargain.

The Catalina 320 is an exciting design that successfully combines the best modern features and construction with Catalina’s hallmark comfort and value. Based on a high-performance and high-volume computer-optimized hull design, the 320 is light on the helm and tracks well under sail or power. Motion and heeling are gentle and predictable.
Other important quality features of the deck include the stout aluminum framed opening deck hatches and ball bearing mainsheet traveler system. The rigging and spar systems are engineered for performance and durability. The fore and aft lowers with intermediate and upper shrouds make the rig very secure and easy to keep in tune. A rigid adjustable boom vang is standard.
The unique interior is beautifully finished in a rich combination of teak, ash and maple hardwoods, complementing the beige textured fiberglass overhead and full hull liner.
